Basically, plumbing is the work of providing and maintaining the water supply and pipe work. The range of pipe work includes those used for fire fighting, discharge and drainage, sanitary appliances such as toilets, weathering of structures and buildings, water and space heating, and so on.

Plumbers are in short supply, and good plumbers are in great demand because they are so essential for public health. Maintaining a clean water supply, sanitation and central heating are some of the areas where their expertise is indispensable. In the absence of these facilities it would be very difficult to control disease. More and more people are realizing its importance and taking it up as a viable and lucrative profession.

However, it's important to choose the right plumber course

Finding the Right Plumber Course

Plumbing is basically hands-on practical work that involves installation, repair and maintenance of pipe lines and other such equipment. As such, the plumber courses place more stress on the practical aspects. However, since the theoretical part is also very important, the ideal plumber course needs to strike the right balance between the two. It should train you to tackle a diverse range of problems and prepare you to face a different problem every day. It should also train you to deal with different people and work with your own hands for solving a wide range of problems.

Most people are under the misconception that plumbing is merely changing a washer or fixing a leak. However, it's much more than that; its scope encompasses dealing with piped systems, fitting bathrooms or building drainage installations. Plumber courses should also include training to be able to work on gas and central heating systems and advanced areas of design and consultancy. The trainee can also graduate into the realm of management and teaching plumbing courses.

A plumber course should provide training in the following fields: principles of plumbing, safety aspects of plumbing, health and safety aspects, cold water and hot water systems, sanitation systems, common plumbing practices, environmental concerns, pipe work relating to central heating systems, electrical supply and earth continuity, sheet lead weathering and relationship aspects. The ideal plumber course should confer the appropriate plumbing qualification from recognized authorities.

Economic Aspects of Plumber Courses.

An ideal plumber course should not only provide the basics of plumbing to the trainees, but also acquaint them with the principles of mathematics, knowledge about the latest technological gadgets and the ability to understand the economics and management of plumbing. The trainee should also be able to start off in an independent venture and master the art of negotiation, customer relationships and marketing techniques.

Although plumber courses might appear to be cost-prohibitive, the scarcity and demand of qualified and trained plumbers makes them a highly-priced commodity. Their earnings are comparable with the best professions in some cases, especially in the case of highly skilled plumbers. Gone are the days when this profession was not considered very respectable. Nowadays, the scenario has changed and plumber courses are in great demand.

James Copper is a writer for http://www.plumbingcourses.org.uk where you can find information on plumbing courses
This article is free for republishing
Source: http://www.articlealley.com/article_1018875_36.html

Why Do People Take Plumber Courses?

This is what James Cooper wrote earlier.

Why Do People Take Plumber Courses?

Today there is a really large lack of skilled construction workers and for that reason many people want to become such workers. All over the internet there are a lot of courses that are suitable for that all kind of people. You just need to search for the right course that you think is right for you. Before joining for any of the plumbing course, it is very important that you know little basics of plumbing and what are things that you need to learn, in order to become a professional plumber.

If you are looking to become a plumber there are a lot of things that you must have in mind. One of them is the fact that this occupation do not requires any special talents and for that reason if you put all your best in it, you will have a successful plumbing career for sure. So, there will not be any problem to choose the right course online, because there are many reliable courses online to select from. This way water leakage is restricted.
Another good tip is to use aqua board on walls instead of plasterboard. The board can be grip filled over the plasterboard walls and cut so that the corners are the only gaps which can be siliconed prior to tiling.

Even when grouting fails the board will provide a good seal and water will run back into the tray providing the board is over the upstand edge.

Preperation is everything here.

Plumbing DVD's - How to become a plumber.

The nice people at Central Trade Skills like my DVD products.

I thank them for the compliments.

Central Trade Skills
http://www.centraltradeskills.co.uk | info@centraltradeskills.co.uk | 86.128.22.20

Hi Mike
Central Trade Skills would like to congratulate you on delivering a range of DVDs that in our opinion a must for anyone wishing to enter the world of plumbing.

If any of your students would like to put any of the informative information you have produced in to practice we would like to offer Central Trade Skills training centre to them we are a fully equiped centre that deliver high quality hands on training we now also offer Gas training allowing students to move in to the gas heating side and register with the gas register (formaly Corgi.

Just like yourself we share the same passion in plumbing training and would offer great hands on experience.
Many people simply hate change and that's why most people never find that "extra" thing missing in their life.

Also, you must realise that in order to make a change you need to do something...
Again this is simple enough, but the fact is...NOBODY EVER GOT RICH IN BUSINESS BY DOING NOTHING...

Make sure your dreams are in the fore front of your mind because it is this that will keep you focused on the task in hand...Keep aiming for a better life for you and your family...BELIEVE IN YOURSELF BECAUSE anything is possible to achieve...

Remember - If you want to succeed you have got to take ACTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
DO NOT WAIT UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE FOR YOU

Not taking ACTION simply means one thing, your life and future prospects as you know it will remain EXACTLY THE SAME!

The DIY plumbing business could be your answer.
Think about what you want for 2010
What’s your 2010 going to be like?

What I could not have imagined in 1982 was the degree of success that is possible from the “Plumbing Business” alone. The fact is; plumbing is probably one of the last high income opportunities for handy practical DIY type individuals left.

I say this because almost all other “Easy Set Up” trades are now so regulated and certification orientated that it is almost impossible to set up without very long and extremely expensive formal training.

Plumbing has yet to be regulated in such a way and still is a very serious proposition for enterprising and handy DIY individuals.

I genuinely believe from my long experience in the business that plumbing can be a fabulous opportunity for people with a genuine desire and at least some practical skills.

I’d go one better than this even; most of the work could be carried out easily by ordinary individuals with a minimum of training. Handy DIY people are perfect for the job, including the ladies.

Now, I’m not suggesting you could start tomorrow and install your own central heating system, but within a week or two watching my DVD's, and self teaching, a competent level would be possible to carry out tasks such as small leaks, ball cock replacements, tap washers, washing machine installations and other simple tasks.

You will learn how I have achieved high earnings regularly and still do today.

Not convinced?

Take a look at my web site...

Good luck.

Wasted Time

The nicest thing about working for oneself is the feeling of not having to live in a regimented way at all times. We have those extra freedoms within our lives. It is a nice feeling of course, but we must never become complacent when it comes to our “work ethic”. We need to be disciplined and prepared to work when the need arises, and if we steal a little time here and there we must be prepared to sometimes go the extra mile when required.
This balance is very important for self employed and it can be the downfall of many businesses when it comes to using time wisely. I can remember a notice one of my previous employers had pinned on the office wall...
“Unused materials can be used again, but unused time is lost forever”
Something to think about.

Market Conditions and Advertising

As the demand for our services reduces due to the downturn in spending, we all need to work harder in promoting ourselves in getting all those extra jobs, especially if we are to survive.

One way we can do that is to look at what our competition might be doing.
I realised years ago that most of my own competitors reduced spending on promoting their businesses when times became hard, one would assume to save a little money in the short term, when in fact they should do the exact opposite.

I have always advocated a greater spend on advertising when the market shrinks.
This has a dramatic effect especially when considering essential services which plumbers are involved in.

The effect is twofold; the first is that it impacts on competitors own advertising, inasmuch that a positive image is presented to our public and inspiring confidence in the company concerned, and secondly, the reality of getting those extra jobs are real as our competitors presence is dwarfed by our own promotions, whether that be directory, internet or any other form of advertising.

Nobody should underestimate the positive effect of advertising, especially when everybody else seems to be reducing. It just might be possible to turn our whole situations around when we look and act positively.

It is also important to look clearly at what our own messages are when promoting our business. What are we looking to achieve, and what are we expecting when we actually spend more money on promotions.

We all need to think how we are going to grab the business that is still around, and why would anybody use our services in the first place, especially over and above our competitors.

In conclusion, we need to be very careful about making quick decisions and sometimes it is wise to be radical in our thinking because the obvious answer is not always the best.
Regards
Mike

Self Employed Plumbers

Friends,

Thanks for looking at this blog today. I'm going to be talking about my business and where it's going throughout 2010. As I have already mentioned, working for myself in the plumbing business has given me a life that I could not have imagined twenty five years ago.

The main thing however is not the "cash" generated by my system but the freedom to choose the life I wanted. Many people feel trapped within their work and it is this that motivates many people to have a stab at self employment. This was the case for me, and it is surprising what a huge motivator this is.

Many people who feel trapped within their employment never have the opportunity to break free because of overbearing financial commitments, and most often resentment sets in later in life where many opportunities have been lost for one reason or another.

We need to consider risk against responsibility, and try to calculate "not" what we might gain by having a go at self employment, but what might be lost in financial terms. Often there is a compromise where an opportunity can be worked alongside a current job.

This is something to consider and an approach that may be perfect for most people.
So, the thinking cap needs to be put on before anything drastic is undertaken.
Thanks
Mike
